Twinkle Twinkle Christmas Star

(Twinkle Twinkle Little Star tune...)

Twinkle twinkle Christmas Star
How I wonder what you are
Up above the world so high
Lighting up the Christmas sky
Star of hope, star of love
Twinkle twinkle from above.

Twinkle twinkle Christmas Star
How I wonder what you are
Shine on meadows, shine on sheep
Shine on shepherds as they sleep
Wake and see a light so bright
What is happening tonight?

Twinkle twinkle Christmas Star
How I wonder what you are
Shine on angels as they sing
Can you hear they news they bring?
"Born this night-oh what a joy!
God's own Son, a baby boy!"

Twinkle twinkle Christmas Star
How i wonder what you are
Shine on Joseph, Mary too
Shine & shine the whole night thru
Oh now watch, see them lay
Baby Jesus on the hay.

I love the stars that twinkle bright
I love the stars on Christmas night
Christmas night is for me too
Jesus came for me, it's true
Thank you God for what you've done
Thank you God, for your own Son.

Christmas Parachute Story

I have just written a new story/program  which uses a parachute (sheet or blanket) to tell the Christmas story. The outline can be adapted to your setting either at a school, home or at a Sunday School. The Christmas parachute story is a great one for all ages to join in together in retelling the nativity Luke and Matthew Bible passages.

Talking with Santa

As a little girl climbed onto Santa’s lap, Santa asked the usual:
“And what would you like for Christmas?”
The child stared at him open-mouthed and horrified for a minute, then gasped: “Didn’t you get my email?”

Dear Santa,
There are three little boys who live at our house.
There’s Jeffrey. He’s two.
There’s David. He’s four.
There’s Norman. He is seven.
Jeffrey is good some of the time.
David is good some of the time.
Norman is good all of the time.
I am Norman.

Christmas Lights

Christmas Lights
An object lesson for children

Use Christmas lights for a Christmas object lesson that teaches about the light of Christ! Bring a string of Christmas lights to plug in and light up.
These lights look great don't they? At Christmas time we sometimes hang lights around a tree or outside our house. Have you ever had Christmas lights at your house?

When I see these light up at Christmas I think 'Oh great Christmas is coming soon'. The lights remind me that Christmas is a special celebration- a celebration everyone can join in. Christmas is Jesus' birthday when we remember when God's Son- Jesus was born at Bethlehem.
(Switch the lights off then on again)
One of the greatest things about these lights is that they help us to see when it's dark.
The Bible calls Jesus the "light of the world". When he grew up he showed God's love and care and that all those people who believe in him will know Jesus light shining in their lives as well and it will never be turned off.

John 8:12: "When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

He is the one that shows us the way to Heaven because He is the only way. We must follow Him.
John 14:6: "Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Christmas Drama

You may have heard of the Christmas play where the little children dressed up as little angels, shepherds, wise men and the other characters of Christmas.
The highlight of the Christmas play was to show the radiance of Jesus. An electric bulb was hidden in the manger. All the stage lights were to be turned off, leaving only one light in the manger.
At the appropriate time, all the lights went out.
Even the manger light.
The silence was broken when one of the shepherds loudly whispered,
"Hey, you turned off Jesus!
"
