"Caveat Retailus: Shopper Beware!"

At a nativity play, all was going well until the angel appeared and told the little girl playing mary that she was going to have a baby,
"But how can that be," said Mary, "Since I am a Viking?"

" A baby first laughs at the age of four weeks, By that time his eyes focus well enough to see you clearly."

"When I was a child, I was so fat I was the one chosen to play Bethlehem in the school Nativity play."

Nazareth: A man from Nazareth was despised in Jesus' day. It was an obscure town from which no good was thought to come, situated in "Galilee of the Gentiles". The Roman garrison in charge of Gallilee was housed there. The people of Nazareth had constant contact with people from far away so that news reached them quickly. The people of Nazareth had an attitude of independence that many Jews despised.
Nathaniel commented, "Nazareth! Can any thing good come from there?"

"Who likes a party?" Presents are wrapped in paper printed with creative designs. The wrapping paper is not meant to sit in a cupboard out of sight but be on display covering the gift inside. As the gift is opened the paper is torn...
Jesus the baby, wrapped in a manger
Jesus on the cross- the Saviour torn for our sins so that the best gift, salvation is opened and available to all.
What a party! Will you be there?
A fragile young life, a defenceless young babe
So may this heart be vulnerable and open

Twinkle twinkle Christmas Star
How I wonder what you are
Up above the world so high
Lighting up the Christmas sky
Star of hope, star of love
Twinkle twinkle from above.

Twinkle twinkle Christmas Star
How I wonder what you are
Shine on meadows, shine on sheep
Shine on shepherds as they sleep
Wake and see a light so bright
What is happening tonight?

Twinkle twinkle Christmas Star
How I wonder what you are
Shine on angels as they sing
Can you hear they news they bring?
"Born this night-oh what a joy!
God's own Son, a baby boy!"

Twinkle twinkle Christmas Star
How i wonder what you are
Shine on Joseph, Mary too
Shine & shine the whole night thru
Oh now watch, see them lay
Baby Jesus on the hay.

I love the stars that twinkle bright
I love the stars on Christmas night
Christmas night is for me too
Jesus came for me, it's true
Thank you God for what you've done
Thank you God, for your own Son.
When four of Santa's elves got sick, the trainee elves did not produce toys as fast as the regular ones, and Santa began to feel the Pre-Christmas pressure.
Then Mrs. Claus told Santa her Mother was coming to visit, which stressed Santa even more.
When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two others had jumped the fence and were out.
Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the floorboards cracked, the toy bag fell to the ground and all the toys were scattered.
Frustrated, Santa went in the house for a cup of apple cider . When he went to the cupboard, he discovered the elves had drunk all the cider. In his frustration, he accidentally dropped the cider jug, and it broke into hundreds of little glass pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and found the mice had eaten all the straw off the end of the broom.
Just then the doorbell rang, and an irritated Santa marched to the door, yanked it open, and there stood a little angel with a great big Christmas tree.

The angel said very cheerfully, 'Merry Christmas, Santa. Isn't this a lovely day? I have a beautiful tree for you. Where would you like me to stick it?
And thus began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree.
I have just written a new story/program which uses a parachute (sheet or blanket) to tell the Christmas story. The outline can be adapted to your setting either at a school, home or at a Sunday School. The Christmas parachute story is a great one for all ages to join in together in retelling the nativity Luke and Matthew Bible passages.
